Shared Services Provider creation failed

SSP provisioning will be retried periodically. If you correct the error that caused this failure, provisioning will subsequently succeed. To stop provisioning from being retired, delete the SSP

solution: from Microsoft TechNet

1. go to administrative tools
2.Component Services
3. expand My Computer (left Panel Tree) then expand "DCOM Config"
4. go through DCOMs tell you get "OSearch" right click and select Properties
5. Security tab, in the "Launch and Activation Permissions" group box, select Customize then click Edit, add the Network user that you assigned during the creation for SSP and grant permissions Local Launch and Local Activation
6.restart IIS then go to SSP creation/ Configuration page, its working now.
